CE International Commemorates International Migrants Day
At Childhood Education International, we join with others worldwide to recognize International Migrants Day on December 18. This is a day for raising awareness about migration and displacement, as well as advocating for the supports that migrants need and sharing resources to support their wellbeing and access to education.
In 2020, more than 281 million people were international migrants, and 59 million people were internally displaced by the end of 2021. Migrants and displaced people often experience challenges in accessing quality education and other services.
At CE International, we believe that access to quality education is critically important for all children, and we are committed to making a difference in the lives of migrants.
We recently announced our refugee education pledges ahead of the Global Refugee Forum, the world’s largest international gathering on refugees. We also hosted an event — Teaching and Learning in Displacement: Hopes for the Global Refugee Forum and Beyond — that featured educators working in displacement contexts in Ukraine, Kenya, and Lebanon.
We are working with educators in displacement contexts to support and provide resources for their work. Learn more about our work and the resources we provide in the sections below.
