Spring and Summer Refugee Educator Foundations of Practice Courses Open for Registration
The Center for Professional Development will offer three upcoming Refugee Educator Foundations of Practice courses and communities of practice. These facilitated and cohort-based online courses offer educators an opportunity to explore teaching and learning approaches and methodologies including:
- Culturally responsive pedagogies
- Trauma-informed practices
- Differentiated instruction
- Universal Design for Learning
The courses are designed by and for educators, using an asset-based orientation for working with culturally and linguistically diverse students of refugee backgrounds across the U.S.
Spring and summer 2023 courses are divided into cohorts to allow participants to focus on information most relevant to their work and connect with peers doing similar work in other places:
- Early Childhood Educators’ Cohort: March 5th – April 29th
- K-12 Educators’ Cohort: July 9th – August 26th
- Instructional Coaches, Mentors, & Principals Cohort: July 9th – August 26th
