About the Speakers

Dr. Sara Watson

Sara Watson is Director of CE International’s Center for Business Champions. She has worked in many U.S. states and cities, at the U.S. national level, and with partners in several countries worldwide to create networks of business champions for child development. Sara founded and was the National and then Global Director of ReadyNation/ReadyNation International, where her hands-on work included personally persuading more than a thousand executives to join campaigns for early childhood investments and supporting them to take action.

Billy Canary

With more than 40 years of experience in leadership and public service at the U.S. national level, Bill Canary leverages his vast knowledge of public policy, leadership coaching, crisis management, and government to provide solutions that allow organizations to meet their strategic objectives. Over the course of his career, he has been an advocate for businesses and champion of economic growth, holding roles as CEO of the Business Council of Alabama and CEO of the American Trucking Association. Currently, he is an Advisor to the United States Chamber of Commerce and a faculty member for the United States Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Institute for Organizational Management. He founded Canary & Company Consulting in 2018 and launched the Intergovernmental Affairs Group in 2020.

Dr. Amlata Persaud

Amlata Persaud is a Global Practice Area Lead at CE International. She is committed to work that supports the equitable and inclusive provision of high-quality education for all persons around the world. She has worked in education research, training, project management and policy analysis roles in multiple countries around the world. In her role at CE International, Amlata supports the organization’s work in fostering education leadership and strengthening education systems as key pillars for educational reform.
