Transforming education to best serve our children and societies often means finding creative ways to engage young learners. Taking advantage of modern storytelling techniques can be a powerful way to achieve such engagement.
Why do students need stories? Stories are universal and transcend boundaries across time, place, and cultures. A good story draws students in by engaging their fundamental humanity, and sparking curiosity about what it means to love, to create, to learn, and to participate in the world. Today, as our education systems become a mirror of our complex world, with increasing and sometimes contradictory rules and policies, stories can provide simple access to the essential material of life and learning.
