Over the past century, our world has changed dramatically. Yet, too often, education is approached in much the same way as in the past.
The traditional education system tends to be designed around time, rather than learning — with a one-size-fits all curriculum and students moving on after set amount of time, regardless of what or how much they’ve learned.
This article calls for fundamentally rethinking how, when, and where learning happens. Using a competency-based education approach, educators and systems can transform the educational experience and improve outcomes.
