Center for Business Champions Supports Creation of a Network of Business Champions in Brazil
“CE International’s training course on building Brazil’s network of business champions was an invaluable experience for our staff. The comprehensive content was tailored to our situation, the designers were responsive to our input, and the speakers were engaging and informative. It has positioned us well to launch our network! We look forward to working with them in the future.”
-Victor Graça, Superintendent, Fundação Abrinq
The Center for Business Champions (CBC) at Childhood Education International recently completed a project supporting Fundação Abrinq pelos Direitos da Criança (FADC) in establishing a network of business champions for children in Brazil.
The network aims to mobilize business leaders to drive the implementation of best practices for the optimal development of children in Brazil.
“Businesses are a vital partner in supporting communities and children,” said Diane Whitehead, President and CEO of Childhood Education International, “By investing in children, businesses not only contribute to societal wellbeing but also strengthen their current and future workforce, communities, and economic growth.”
Tailored Support & Strategy Development
The CBC recently concluded a six-month engagement with FADC that started with a comprehensive landscape analysis to understand the current opportunities and challenges for engaging businesses in child development in Brazil.
Using these insights, the CBC tailored six virtual training sessions that equipped the FADC team with practical tools and strategies to engage in building a business network. Staff from diverse roles such as program management, communications, advocacy, and research participated. The sessions included guest speakers and curated resources. These customized sessions focused on addressing the unique needs of FADC and its network partners, ensuring relevance and impact.
Throughout the training period, the CBC provided consulting and advisory support to help FADC develop a robust strategy for launching and sustaining the network. The program culminated with the FADC formally launching its business network for children, Campeões pela Infância (“Champions for Children”), at an inspiring in-person event in São Paulo in early November.
Network Launch
CE International is proud to have supported FADC’s launch event, during which FADC brought together private sector leaders to discuss the network’s vision, the benefits of joining, and the broader value of investing in children for businesses and society alike.
Members of the CBC team participated in this event, delivering a presentation to the business leaders on the transformative potential of business involvement in early child development and highlighting similar examples from around the world.
“We are so proud to have supported FADC in achieving this remarkable milestone,” said Dr. Sara Watson, Director of the CBC. “We are looking forward to seeing the growth of the network and its impact on child development in Brazil, and we remain committed to supporting FADC in these efforts.”
The Campeões pela Infância network is now meeting with potential members to grow its base. The network aims to foster collaboration among businesses to advocate for policies, provide resources, and implement innovative initiatives to support children’s wellbeing and development in Brazil.
Building Business Champions Around the World
The CBC supports business executives and childhood development leaders around the world in building effective and lasting partnerships.
By growing the number of businesses outside the early learning industry that act as “unexpected” champions supporting investment in children, the CBC helps to amplify investments, boost the entire sector and build bright futures for all children.
